Northern Michigan has some of the most beautiful freshwater beaches in America. With nearly 200 miles of shoreline in the Traverse City region, you’re sure to find a beach that suits you.
One of our favorites is the beach at Empire in Leelanau County. This could be the most beautiful of all Northern Michigan beaches. Wade into crystal clear waters and look out at the expanse of Lake Michigan. To your right you’ll see the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
In Traverse City, Clinch Park Beach is very popular with locals and visitors alike. Slip beneath the water for some snorkeling, with clear views of huge salmon, pike, and smallmouth bass.
And here is a photo of the Beach Club at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa, where the Resort’s guests can enjoy a day at the private beach, playing in the surf with personal watercraft that you can rent right there from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
